ISES was founded in 1987 in response to phenomenal growth in the event planning industry, a growing demand for promoting professionalism, the need to standardize the industry, and provide continuing education. ISES has over 3,000 members in 33 chapters throughout the world. Membership encompasses professionals from a variety of special events disciplines including caterers, meeting planners, decorators, corporate and social event planners, audio-visual technicians, party and convention coordinators, educators, journalists, hotel sales managers and many more professional disciplines. ISES provides education and networking to its members to promote professionalism in the special events industry, which benefits the public.
