Pat Bright and Dunk & Bright have been very community oriented, donating money, furniture and personal time to many local organizations. Pat has also been recognized on numerous occasions for his efforts. He has received the Catholic Charities House of P rovidence Lifetime Achievement Award, the Syracuse Newspapers Man of the Year Award, the NAACP's Martin Luther King Award, and the Syracuse University's Letterman of Distinction Award. Pat has also served as President of the Home Furnishings Association, and the Syracuse Housing Partnership. After a successful business career in Washington, DC and New York City, Pat's son Jim moved back to Syracuse and in 1993 purchased Dunk & Bright from Pat. Today Jim is the sole shareholder. He has carried on the trad ition of Dunk & Bright's community involvement. Almost weekly, Jim is involved in distributing furniture to organizations which serve the sick and the poor. He is a director and on the executive committee of Community General Hospital'
